I've been to Saint & Second a couple of times with friends, and it's quickly become a favorite. The environment is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors. I especially love the top floor--such a great vibe up there especially during sunset! We ordered a few dishes to share, and it was perfect for our group. The food was delicious, and the portions were just right for sharing. The service was also excellent; the staff was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. This is the perfect spot for a girlies brunch or dinner! I'll definitely be going back.

Saint & Second in Long Beach is a great spot for happy hour! The comfortable seating area and laid-back vibe made it a great place to unwind. We had a couple of drinks, and the bartender was not only friendly but also gave us some excellent dinner recommendations. A fantastic experience overall!

Super amazing food. Their colossal shrimp dish is amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Food is really good here! If you're trying to find a cute and elegant but chill spot this is it! Restaurant is really cool vibe is great! I forgot the names of what we ordered sorry But anything on the menu is prob great! Great spot to catch up with girlfriends or dates! And it's dog friendly which I love

The ambiance of Saint and Second was great. I was able to find parking without a hassle and reservations were made online. But unfortunately the brunch was just okay. The selection was heavier on breakfast items. One of the half dozen fresh oysters I got didn't taste right which was such a shame. The pancakes and french toast didn't come with butter. However, the biscuits and gravy was really good but the celery salad was just okay. The French onion soup was okay, too. The people who worked here were attentive and nice. I hear great things about this place so I want to come back for dinner.

I finally had a chance to return and this time it was for brunch with friends! I had promised S&S I would review them honestly the next time I returned and also turned down their kind offers. So here's an update sans incentive! The service was great! Our server was patient and friendly and knew how to make my order gluten and dairy free. We were seated inside next to their beautiful bar. Our party ordered biscuits and gravy (would've been my choice if I could eat that way), chilaquiles, pancakes for me, and Mac n cheese for the kiddo. My pancakes were okay. Would've been tastier with all the yummy whipped cream and powder red sugar I'm sure but they were fluffy and filling. Not nearly enough compote or maple syrup but I also didn't ask for more. I've definitely had better gluten and dairy free pancakes elsewhere but these were fine. My sense is that they have good food. But if you have food allergies, you can find stuff to eat but they just won't be as tasty as what's on the regular menu. I'll likely return again but it's not a go-to place for me.

STEPH UPDATE: Still has a great ambiance and wonderful bar. Could it really have been 8 years since my last visit? According to Yelp, yes it has. When I read my old review, I could see why: it seemed to be a place long on ambiance but short on great food. With so many places in town vying for one's attention, a mediocre, spendy experience in an area I don't frequent much relegated it to the lower end of places I wanted to revisit. That could change with my last experience, at least for the bar. The hubby and I ducked in here with some friends after dinner across the street, and luckily found four seats around a corner at the bar--perfect. The bar was as beautiful as I remembered, and the bartenders were friendly and welcoming. They were also efficient; you could tell they took their jobs seriously--no sloppiness, here, which I really appreciated. Our friends had some wine and the hubby and I decided to share a bourbon flight, which was delightful, complete with info card where you could note your impressions. I'd definitely return for the bar, especially since their menu doesn't have a ton of vegetarian options.

Came here for Long Beach restaurant week and had a great time. Saint and second seems like a popular spot in downtown Long Beach so we were very excited to try it. The restaurant is appropriately located off second as the name suggests so parking can be tough. We had a reservation which is recommended on the weekends as it can get pretty crowded and we're seated within 10-15 minutes. The staff was all very welcoming. We had the pre-fixe menu for the restaurant week. We chose the gochujang pork belly which was served with some lettuce wraps and the crab cakes to start. The pork belly was quite disappointing. The meat was extremely thin and tough, and not thick and juicy as pork belly should be. The lettuce chows and side of kimchi was nice though. The crab cakes were great and we really enjoyed them. For my main I ordered the pork chop which was quite good. The meat was tender and there was a nice sweet reduction on top with some nuts on top of a bed of mashed potatoes. The truffle fries were good but smaller than expected. The star of the show was probably the pistachio brown butter cake which was so moist and DELICIOUS. Overall the food was alright and it is a nice place to go to with friends for drinks! Everything was decent but they could work on their pork belly appetizer.
